Overview

It provides an overview of the conceptual framework related to the proper employment of FHQ SP units to support and help contribute to a successful achievement of the Mandate. It also examines the nature, characteristics of the units and their enabling support to the military component

Aim
The aim of this module is to familiarize participants with the:

  • Overview and concept of employment of UN Force Headquarters Support Units (FHQ SP)
  • Nature of FHQ SP units
  • Characteristics of FHQ SP
  • Flexibility and adaptability of tailoring the force for support
  • FHQ SP roles and responsibilities supporting UN Peacekeeping Operations (PKO) 

Learning Objectives

Learners will:

  • Describe the characteristics and functions of FHQ SP units
  • Know the key concepts of FHQ SP unit employment
  • Understand the roles and functions of the FHQS SP units
  • Describe the principles of FHQ SP units support
